SciCrop was founded in 2015 by José Damico and Renato Ferraz, after several years of experience with data science and AI in large national and international corporations. Upon analyzing the agribusiness sector, they identified the growth potential and the opportunities that analytics combined with AI could offer in the digital transformation process. From this moment, they created the company whose name embodies the DNA of its mission: “Sci,” which comes from the English word “science” and represents applied data science with technology; and “Crop,” which is the English word that represents agriculture, the crops, and the focus on agribusiness.

We were born to apply technology in agribusiness, and not the reverse. Our focus on AI for agribusiness has placed us at the forefront. We were accelerated by Google for Startups and Launchpad in the USA and Brazil in 2016, when no one was talking about AI yet. By 2018, we already had our own rigs with video cards for processing machine learning models and computer vision. This history makes us a reference and leaders in the use of AI technologies for the sector.
